As I’m currently seeing a lot of guitars with winter issues, I thought that I would issue an updated seasonal reminder. The heat is running a lot in your homes. Any acoustic guitar that is on a stand, or hanging on a wall, needs a damp-it guitar humidifier in the sound hole. This will balance out the moisture level inside the instrument.
Placing this inside will allow it to keep from drying out too much. If the guitar does dry out, it can cause set-up issues and possible cracks. Heat is the number one enemy of any acoustic guitar! If your instrument is stored in a quality hard shell case, then it will have a controlled environment. In the right case, it will not dry out and you will not need to worry about it.
