As we are in the hot days of summer I wanted to pass on a seasonal reminder. Since heat is the main enemy of all stringed instruments, never leave any instrument in any part of a vehicle unattended.
Temperatures rise in a closed vehicle rapidly and can severely damage your piece. I have seen bridges come unglued, necks warp, side, back and top cracks. High temperatures can also damage the finish of an instrument.
If you must leave your instrument for a period of time, it is important to park out of the sun.
